Note
James served in the War of 1812 in the Kentucky Mounted Volunteer Militia. He migrated to Missouri in 1836. At one time he owned some 2000 acres and many slaves. He established a private school. He also established a cemetery on the family farm. Many neighbors and slaves were buried there as well as family.
