Darrell William Heimer 1942-2005

Darrell William Heimer, 62, of Pekin, died Monday afternoon, Sept. 5, at Pekin Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home in Pekin with the Rev. K. Michael Simminger officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.

Mr. Heimer was born Sept. 28, 1942, in Pittsfield, to Donald Wayne and Frances (Chapman) Heimer. He married Ann Morrow on Feb. 22, 1962, in Seneca.

He owned and operated Heimer's Battery Barn in Pekin for 27 years, retiring in August.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the Pekin AMBUCS, Rexford, Inc., Mr. and Mrs. Dance Club and was associated with the Oakridge Gun Club.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Darrell W. Jr. of Pekin; three daughters, Debra (Michael) Bergerhouse and Cindy Stedman, both of Pekin, and Suzan Clark of Carthage; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; six brothers, Larry (Marika) of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Mike (Nikki) of Montgomery, Dave (DeeAnn) of Seneca, Jerry (Vicky) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Jeff (Emily) of Azle, Texas, and Tim (Denise) of Channahon.

PEKIN - Darrell William Heimer, 62, of 1901 Greenview Dr. died at 1:36 p.m., Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, in the emergency room at Pekin Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. K. Michael Simminger will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Miller Center dance program or to the Oak Ridge Sportsman's Club.
