Nesset, 66, SERVICES: Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Friday in St. John’s Catholic Church in Biwabik, with the Rev. David Forsman as celebrant. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik. Avis L. Nesset, 66, of Lakeland, died Sunday, March 25, 2007, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born June 25, 1940, in Northome, Minn., to Howard and Mildred (Gerdon) Morrow. Avis was a 1958 graduate of Northome High School and married Dean Nesset on Oct. 25, 1958, in Northome. The couple moved to Aurora, then to Baudette and later to Northome and in 1965 became residents of Lakeland. Avis owned and operated His and Her Styling Salon in Eveleth in the late 1970s until the early 1980s. Avis was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, making wedding cakes, bowling, playing cards, traveling and spending time with family. Survivors include her husband, Dean; daughters, Cindy (Brad Olson) Johnson of Biwabik and Tammy (Ron) Wilson of Rochester; grandchildren, Tanya (Ross Curry) Johnson of Biwabik and Sheraya and Kelli Wilson of Rochester; mother, Mildred Morrow of Northome; sisters, Rosalie Bergstrom of Seattle, Wash., twin sister, Alice (Bill) Filipiak of Choasset and Penny (Darrell) Buentemeier of Northoma; brothers, Ron (Darlene) Morrow and Tim (Cindy) Morrow, both of Apache Junction, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Nesset; father, Howard Morrow; and sister, Betty Reimer.
