CLARENCE H. BANNISTER

Clarence H. Bannister of Cantwell passed away at the Desloge Hospital in St. Louis at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, January 29th, being 69 years 1 month 5 days of age.

The body will lie in state at the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel until 2 p.m., Friday, January 31st, when funeral services will be held at the Cantwell Baptist Church by the pastor, Rev. J. B. Huffmaster, assisted by Rev. Ed Flatbush, pastor of the Fairview Baptist Church. Interment Herod Cemetery under the direction of the C.Z. Boyer and Son.

Clarence Henry Bannister, son of the late Frank and Vinie Tripp Bannister, was born in Bonne Terre, December 24, 1888, and he and his family have resided in St. Francois County and have always taken part in the business and civic affairs of the community. He was a member of the Ionic Lodge No. 154, A.F. & A.M. at Desloge, and was a 32 degree Mason, also.

He was united in marriage to Dora Eaton on March 17, 1929. Besides his wife he leaves the following children: (Lucy) Mrs. Lester Foshee of Farmington; Roy Bannister of Desloge; (Golda) Mrs. Ken Clark of St. Louis; (Christine) Mrs. Walter Hardy and Jerry Bannister of Route 2, Farmington; (Bessie) Mrs. Claude Sheppard of Cape Girardeau; Earl Bannister and Ronald Dean Bannister of Cantwell; (Erma) Mrs. Leon Cook of Flat River; and (Etta Ruth) Mrs. Melvin Yamnitz of Corning, Ark. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and many friends.
