OSCAR CALDWELL 1864-1951

OSCAR CALDWELL DIED FEBRUARY 19

Oscar Caldwell, well known Flat River business man passed away at his home, 1410 E. Main, on Monday, February 19, 1951, ending a prolonged illness. He was 86 years, 8 months 7 days of age.

He was born in Hancock, Ind., on June 12, 1864, a son of the late William and Talitha Ann Smith Caldwell. He came to Missouri in 1885 and lived in Marquand for several years before locating in Flat River [St. Francois County]. He was married on October 15, 1893 to Rachel Henson, who with their three sons, Arthur, Raymond and Roy Caldwell, all of Flat River, survive. He also leaves nine grandchildren and a niece Mrs. Florence Duzan of Welsco, Texas who came here for the funeral services.

Mr. Caldwell was associated with his sons at the Caldwell Funeral Home here for many years but had been inactive the past ten years. Funeral services were held at his home of Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock conducted by Rev. James F. Marler. Interment was in St. Francois Memorial Park with Benham Service.
