MEEKEE WOLFORD TOWNSEND CHEESEBROUGH
Mrs. Meakie (Meekee) Cheesebrough, one of the oldest citizens of the Leadbelt died of general debility early Wednesday morning (Jan 22, 1919) at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Smith, at Leadington, with whom she had resided since the death of another daughter Mrs. J. A. Allen, in this city about four years ago. Mrs. Cheesebrough was 84 years and 22 days, and had been a resident of this and Ste. Genevieve counties, half her life and had lived in the Leadbelt since the death of her husband (Joseph Cheesebrough)about 15 years ago. She was a devoted Christian and (when situated---'This line difficult to read) she could conveniently do so, was a regular attendant at church service and was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church in Flat River.

She leaves four sons, and one daughter who are as follows: William, John, and Edward (Edwin) of Ester: Sam of Colo, and Mrs. James Smith (Margaret Jane, who with the exception of Sam, were present at the funeral. She also leaves a number of grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the residence, Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock by her pastor Rev. G. A. Kennedy and interment occured in the Parkview Cemetery.
